2024: ​League of Human Rights with NGO APODAC published a shadow report evaluating the Czech Republic’s adherence to the UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW). This report highlights significant issues in Czech obstetric care, such as the lack of respect for women’s rights during childbirth, limited options for birth settings, excessive medical interventions without informed consent, and the insufficient number of midwives. Additionally, it addresses challenges in compensating victims of unlawful sterilizations.

2024: Verdict made by court in Prague is official after the defendant didn’t appeal the sentence. After four years we can finally say that the law passes by Ministry of Health banning fathers from delivery rooms during covid was interfering with basic human rights of the families, particularly right for a family life.

2023: Court in Prague 2 pronounced its sentence on the law banning fathers from delivery rooms during covid. The verdict said that rights of parents were violated, like their right for family life and this measure taken by Ministry of Health was too extreme. For the damage it caused the family, court granted them settlement in the amount of 50 000 CZK.

2023: League of Human Rights on the  occasion of finishing a  project financially supported from Norway funds called: Let’s Deal with Obstetric Violence organized a press conference, on which they evaluated important aspect of the project, its challenges and results.

2023: In the case of a law essentially banning fathers from delivery rooms the Supreme Court concluded that this right is part of basic human rights for family life and municipal courts need to re-evaluate, if these decisions from Ministry of Health were made on a legal basis. Since the beginning League of Human Rights said that this extreme measure interferes with rights of families, and we hope that courts will come to the same conclusion.

2022: League of Human Rights wrote an open letter evaluating effectiveness of a new law involving compensations for involuntary sterilization, they pointed out problems and proposed solutions, which could resolve the situation.

2022: European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) decided that Czech Republic violated rights of our client for effective investigation in a case of police brutality. This right is part of basic human rights not to  be tortured or to be subjected to humiliating treatment. Court granted our client a settlement in the amount of 6 000 EUR.
